Youth Transportation Specialist - Indianapolis PAY $18/HR-Contract Services Support Youth Access to Critical Services VOICES Corporation is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Youth Transportation Specialist to provide structured and reliable transportation for youth participating in our Indianapolis Day Reporting program. This role is essential to ensuring consistent program attendance and maintaining a safe, professional environment during daily transport. We are seeking candidates with prior youth or school transportation experience who understand the importance of safety, punctuality, and structured supervision. Position Summary The Youth Transportation Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of youth participants between designated pick-up locations and the VOICES program site. This position requires strong judgment, professional communication skills, and the ability to maintain appropriate structure and expectations while transporting youth. Key Responsibilities Safe Youth Transportation • Operate an 11- or 15-passenger VOICES vehicle safely and professionally • Follow assigned morning and afternoon routes • Ensure all passengers are seated and secure during transport • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations Vehicle & Safety Oversight • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections daily • Maintainaccurate transportation and mileage logs • Immediately report mechanical issues, accidents, or safety concerns • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization Youth Engagement & Communication • Maintain professional and respectful interactions with youth • Reinforce VOICES expectations during transport • Communicate attendance concerns, delays, or incidents to site leadership • Support consistent program engagement through reliable service Minimum Qualifications (Required) • Must be 21 years of age or older • Valid Indiana Driver’s License with clean driving record • Ability to pass criminal background check • Minimum of 1 year experience in youth or school transportation • Experienceoperating 11- or 15-passenger vehicles • Strong reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in structured youth programs • Experience in school transportation, youth services, or community programs • Familiarity with transporting court-involved or systemimpacted youth Why Join VOICES? • Mission-driven organization serving youth in Indianapolis • Supportive team environment • Consistent hours • Meaningful role in youth engagement and attendance success Job Type: Part-time Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.
