Youth/Student Ministries Pastor Location: Hays, Kansas Church Attendance: Approximately 1,100 average weekly attendance Student Ministry: Approximately 75–100 middle and high school students Employment Type: Full-time About Celebration Community Church We are a growing non-denominational church in Hays, Kansas with an average weekly attendance of approximately 1,100 people. Our student ministry, CrossCurrent, has an established foundation with roughly 75–100 students involved. The ministry also has committed student leaders and youth leaders. We are seeking a Youth Pastor who will provide biblical leadership and shepherding for our student ministry, while developing a culture of discipleship and helping students grow into mature followers of Christ. This is a pastor-level role intended for a leader who can teach Scripture faithfully, develop leaders, build relationships with students and families, and create systems that support long-term ministry health. Primary Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership • Provide biblical leadership and vision for the student ministry • Teach and communicate Scripture clearly and effectively • Lead students toward spiritual maturity and discipleship • Provide pastoral care for students and families as needed Ministry Development • Develop and oversee ministry strategy for middle and high school students • Recruit, equip, and shepherd volunteer leaders • Build systems that support discipleship, leadership development, and outreach • Evaluate ministry effectiveness and implement improvements Relational Leadership • Build relationships with students and parents • Partner with families in discipling students • Work collaboratively with church staff and leadership • Participate in the life and mission of the church as a whole Administrative Responsibilities • Manage ministry calendar and budget • Coordinate events, camps, retreats, and mission opportunities • Oversee communication and organization for student ministry activities Qualifications Required: • Clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ • Agreement with church beliefs and ministry philosophy (https://www.celebratejesus.org/about) • Demonstrated character consistent with biblical pastoral leadership • Experience leading in student ministry • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteers Preferred: • Seminary degree from an accredited institution • 3–8 years of ministry experience • Experience leading a student ministry of significant size or complexity • Strong teaching and leadership gifting Personal Characteristics We are seeking someone who is: • Biblically grounded • Relational and approachable • Humble and teachable • Organized and self-motivated • A team player • A strong communicator • Passionate about discipleship rather than simply event programming Compensation and Benefits Compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications, including: • Competitive salary and benefit package • Paid time off • Relocation assistance (if applicable) To Apply Please submit these items to Executive Pastor, Derek Mayfield, by emailing [email protected]: • Resume • Cover letter • Personal testimony and ministry philosophy • Link to a short personal introduction video • Links to 2-3 recent teaching samples • References Tagged as: student, youth
