Description
Humly are recruiting for an experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Key Stage 2 classroom from September 2026.
This role is ideal for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and a strong understanding of Key Stage 2. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to support learning, classroom routines, behaviour and pupil engagement throughout the school day.
Experience supporting challenging behaviour and knowledge of KS2 are essential for this role.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be supporting pupils in a Year 6 class with:
• General classroom support across the KS2 curriculum
• Behaviour support and positive behaviour management
• Supporting pupils to stay focused, regulated and engaged with learning
• Small-group interventions and individual pupil support
• Literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
• Helping pupils build confidence, independence and resilience
• Maintaining clear routines and consistent expectations
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider primary school team
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You…
• Have experience as a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, KS2 Teaching Assistant, Primary Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant
• Have experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
• Have strong knowledge of Key Stage 2 routines, expectations and learning
• Are confident using positive behaviour management strategies
• Can remain calm, firm and consistent in challenging situations
• Are proactive, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Can support individuals, small groups and the wider class
• Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one
• Are willing to complete Humly’s safeguarding and compliance process before placement
