About the role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher for a full-time, temporary position in Pontefract, starting in September. This is a long-term supply role for the full academic year, with the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a supportive and welcoming primary school. Key responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum. • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress to support attainment and achievement. • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support pupil development. • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic success. Pre-requisites • Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). • Proven experience of teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5. • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum and assessment requirements. • Two education or school-based references. • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills. • Strong communication, organisational, and planning abilities. • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
