We are looking to recruit Playworkers and Activity Leaders to join our Wrap Around Care team working at a school in the Haxby region. Experience: Ideally the successful candidate will have the following: • Excellent ability to keep children engaged and having fun, • Understanding of childhood development and confidence working with ages 4-11, • Experience leading activities with children, from arts and crafts to sports, • First Aid qualification, or be willing to gain paediatric FA. This is a rare opportunity to be part of our small, friendly team who deliver outstanding provision in over 40 schools in our region. With dedicated spaces within school grounds, this is an excellent opportunity for creative playworkers to thrive and offers unrivalled scope for professional development and training. Key duties will involve working alongside others to plan and deliver active play sessions for primary aged children. The setting will be stocked with resources to engage and inspire, allowing staff to design novel themes and activities for children to enjoy. Staff will manage behaviour, encourage friendships and resolve conflict, following our behaviour policy. Our team are enthusiastic, committed and above all, passionate about getting young people active and engaged alongside their peers. The wrap around care will fall in line with school hours, therefore hours are 15:00 - 17:30. The role may be shared between a couple of candidates, part time applicants are welcome to apply. Those who can only do a few afternoons each week are welcome. There are also morning hours available from 7:30 - 9:15, if the candidate wished to gain more hours. Although the wrap around provision is term time only, we will also be running activity clubs every school holiday. Therefore, there is the potential for 40 hour weeks during the holidays, should our staff wish to work. For our most exceptional staff, there are additional hours available within our primary schools, delivering primary PE. This may lead to a full time position, for those who excel. Initial interviews will take place via Zoom, with the aim to bring successful applicants into our clubs for in person training. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Salary: £9.00-£13.00 per hour
