Description
Due to company growth, our client is looking for a workshop-based technician. This role will require the successful applicant to complete a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks. The primary responsibility for this role will be the inspection and rebuild of heavy gearboxes.
As a technician, you will be responsible for:
• Commissioning, fault finding, repairs, rigging/de-rigging, and maintenance of specialist heavy equipment within the workshop facility.
• Providing technical support to customers and service personnel via telephone to assist with fault diagnosis and resolution.
• Liaising with the manufacturer’s after-sales support team to provide feedback from site operations and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Conducting inspections, repairs, and overhauls of heavy-duty gearboxes and planetary reduction units, including the preparation of detailed reports and supporting documentation.
The ideal candidate will be:
• A strong understanding of modern mobile hydraulic systems and electrical/electronic systems.
• Previous experience in the overhaul and repair of Hydraulic motors and pumps, Industrial engines, or Industrial gearboxes/torque reductions.
• A meticulous and methodical approach to complex mechanical repairs.
• Good literacy and IT skills, with the ability to read, interpret, and produce technical documentation.
• A full UK driving licence and valid passport.
• Flexibility in working hours, including occasional out-of-hours work and travel throughout the UK and Ireland as required.
