Wood Machinist Harlow Bros Ltd - Long Whatton We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking Wood Moulder Operator/Machinist at our Head Office in Long Whatton. This is a fast-paced working environment working within a well-established team. We are looking for candidates who have relevant proven experience within timber industry and have the motivation and passion to develop this role into that of Site Trainer. Candidates who have experience and qualifications in wood-machining, specifically operating and setting up high speed wood moulders. Company specific training will be provided to enhance gaps in skills, and candidates who can demonstrate a genuine thirst to learn will achieve their potential with Harlow Bros. Reporting initially into the Mill Management team the role will encompass the following duties: · Setting and operating traditional wood working machines to produce batches of components required (from solid wood and from panel products) to a high-quality finish · Setting up and operating high speed wood moulder, (Weinig, Leadermac, wadkin etc.). · Ability to use various machinery such as, Morticer, Cross Cut Saw, Spindle Moulder, six headed moulders, Planer, Thicknesser and Table Saw. · Machine timber to order / customer requirements · Quality and quantity check all orders that they machine, controlling output and escalating issues · Undertake routine operator led maintenance on machinery daily and to fill in maintenance sheets The above is not an exhaustive list but a guidance of what is expected for this role The successful candidate must have: · Experience with wood machinery and technical skills in wood working machinery · An eye for detail · Competent in Math's and English, · Willingness to learn and develop and an ability or desire to teach others · A positive, can-do attitude with basic problem-solving abilities · Good timekeeping and reliability and keen to achieve more Hours of Work are 39 per week - Mon-Thu: 07:30am to 4pm and Fri: 07:30am to 3pm Additional overtime and some Saturday Mornings may be required.
