Volunteers, will serve as a wildlife docent educating the public about Western Snowy Plover biology, rules and regulations. Volunteers will be stationed at beach parking lots and trailheads in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Volunteers should be prepared for a variety of weather conditions. Weather on the Oregon Coast can be cool and windy even in the peak of the summer. Strong winds, high tides, and sneaker waves are all considered job hazards for this position. Due to the consistent interaction with beach goers with a variety of recreational interests, volunteers may have to navigate occasional difficult interactions with members of the public. Ideal candidates have a history of working with the public or education in some capacity. Must provide your own RV/Trailer, there is a full hook-up site for the wildlife volunteer.
