Good afternoon, Our client, based in Southwest Manchester, is currently recruiting for a Welfare Rights Officer on a 2-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position. The ideal candidate will have strong experience filling in benefit forms and up to date knowledge on the welfare reform bill. The successful candidate must be confident in providing the right level fo benefit advice to tenants in person or online. Duties will include (but are not limited to): • Review benefits of tenants, ensuring they receive the funds they are entitled to • Hold responsibility for looking into future welfare reforms and devising strategies • Providing advice on and calculating entitlement to benefits for tenants through appropriate methods of service delivery • Assisting tenants in completing benefit claim forms and gathering supportive medical and other evidenc • Built relationships with other statutory and voluntary organisations • Keeping yourself updated on current changes and policies • Investigating welfare reform changes, measured the impact of welfare reform tenants • Ensuring that all client work is recorded appropriately and that all records are accurately maintained and kept up to date • Producing statistics and analysis reports on welfare rights management information for both monitoring performance and promotion of the service Skills, knowledge and expertise required: • In depth knowledge of welfare rights and associated case law • Experience of an ordered approach to managing welfare right casework • One Housing IT experience - desirable Working pattern: • Hybrid working - 1 - 2 days from home • Flexible working days Working hours: • 37 hours per week • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
