Welding Mentor / Instructor Based MTL Advanced Rotherham Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum (depending on experience) Department: WEC Group Training Academy (MTL Advanced, Rotherham) About WEC Group WEC Group is one of the UK’s leading and multi-award-winning engineering, fabrication and machining businesses. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Welding Mentor to join our Training Academy at MTL Advanced in Rotherham. Role As a Welding Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting apprentices throughout their training journey, helping them develop the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours required to achieve the Level 3 Plate Welder Standard. You will provide practical coaching and mentoring within a modern workshop environment, ensuring apprentices develop confidence, competence and safe working practices from day one. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Welder/Fabricator who wants to move away from full-time production work and use their expertise to inspire, coach and develop the next generation of welding professionals. Essential skills / experience • Strong background in welding and fabrication. • Proven competency in MIG and TIG welding processes. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • A passion for developing and supporting others. • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative. • Strong organisational and mentoring skills. Desirable • Previous experience mentoring, coaching or training apprentices. • Assessor or teaching qualifications. • Experience within an apprenticeship or training environment. Please note: Successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, funded by the company.
