Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our team. This role involves performing precise welding and fitting tasks on various metal components, primarily within construction, fabrication, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with diverse welding techniques, knowledge of heavy equipment/ industrial machines, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. Duties
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding and fitting requirements.
• Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW, and welding techniques to join metal components according to specifications.
• Proficient with carbon arc, oxy torch, plasma
• Must have experience with heavy equipment, construction equipment, industrial process equipment. Diesel knowledge a plus
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures, ductwork, piping, and sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
• Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate cuts and fits.
• Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts for lifting heavy materials safely.
• Use basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control checks.
• Follow safety protocols adhering to ASME codes & standards and maintain a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in construction site work or manufacturing environments involving welding and fitting.
• Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW welding processes
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with rigging operations including crane handling and forklift operation.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations.
• Experience working with sheet metal, ductwork, piping systems, or structural steel is preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
