Overview Advanced Technologies is seeking a full time Web Developer / Graphic Designer /Document Accessibility Specialist to provide support and maintenance services for existing client's, Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), website. Responsibilities The successful candidate would be expected to develop and create the look, layout, and features of the ALSDE website as defined by ALSDE and perform the following: • Provide support and maintenance Services for existing ALSDE • Development of new website features and functionality as defined by • Remediate PDF documents, Word files, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and PDF/UA standards. • Perform any other closely related professional services typically associated with website development, maintenance, and support, including but not limited to activities such as • Writing and editing content • Document remediation • Solving code problems • Training • Preparation of documentation • Other porblem- solving tasks • Designing webpage layout • Other duties may be assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field with two (2) to three (3) years of professional design experience. Portfolio of strong creative work. Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of current developments in Information Technology • Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, PDF/UA (ISO 14289), Section 508, and ADA Title II requirements as they apply to electronic documents and forms. • Knowledge of how to remediate PDF documents, Word files, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and PDF/UA standards. • Documented experience in the use of Microsoft development systems, i.e., JavaScript, HTML • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for rapid prototyping • Knowledge of Adobe products (e.g. Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign) • Microsoft Word (styles, headings, alt text, reading order) • PDF (tagging, logical structure, forms, links) • Documented experience in basic and advanced web design • Documented experience in graphic and multimedia • Documented experience in multimedia programming and technology • Knowledge of content management • Exceptional verbal and written communication • Collaborate with diverse teams with various teams to ensure compliance • Problem-solving • Ability to work on and respond to multiple projects at one • Ability to apply relevant software & hardware • Ability to continuously learn and keep abreast of technological • Ability to manage project • Ability to coordinate the work of • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter • Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently and not rely on State or other team members for • Ability to learn quickly and love to learn new material Why Work at AUM?
