Are you interested in earning money as a tutor this year? Do you want to interact directly with students while building relationships and instilling a passion for learning? Would you like to receive training and experience in Amplify’s assessment and intervention products?
Amplify Tutoring https://amplify.com/tutoring/ is seeking remote, part-time Virtual Math Tutors to provide small-group 3rd-5th grade math tutoring for students during the 2026-2027 School Year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent English speaker.
- Comfortable and highly skilled with technology.
- Comfortable providing instruction in 3rd-5th grade math topics (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
- Available a minimum of 90 minutes a day, 3 days a week (M-F) at consistent times during the school day between 8am-4pm ET (ex. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00-11:30).
- Have access to a personal laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone (Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smart phones cannot be used for this role).
- Enjoys working with elementary age students.
- Willing to accept and implement ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Interested in participating in professional development and learning opportunities to help students meet their math goals.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A TUTOR:
Compensation: The compensation for this role is $18 per hour for delivery of tutoring sessions and $15 per hour for lesson preparation and professional development. Tutors will be employed and paid via a 3rd party staffing agency as a W2 contracted employee. Tutors are compensated for each tutoring session as well as lesson preparation time for each tutoring session delivered. Tutors are also compensated for their initial training and ongoing professional development throughout the year.
Background Checks: If selected, fingerprinting and background checks will be required. Tutors cannot work with students prior to clearance. Initial fingerprinting costs average $50-$150. Tutors are reimbursed for costs associated with fingerprinting after submission of receipts.
Equipment: Curriculum is provided to the tutor. Tutors must be able to supply their own laptop/computer, with webcam and microphone, and headphones that can be used during their tutoring assignment and/or during professional development activities and meetings. Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smart phones cannot be used for this role. To ensure the best instructional flow, a reliable high-speed connection is required, and the use of dual monitors is strongly preferred to balance student work and engagement effectively.
Technology: Our ideal candidate is a digital multitasker capable of seamlessly managing a high-energy virtual small group classroom across multiple platforms. You must be adept at navigating several browser tabs simultaneously, monitoring real-time student data for accuracy while maintaining eye contact and "reading the room" via video. Proficiency with virtual math manipulatives and on-screen annotation tools is essential for modeling concepts.
