The role operates under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Government and Comm unity Relations an d  within an assigned portfolio, has wide latitude for initiative and judgement.  The role requires  strong political acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to  navigate   intertwined  government and community  relationships.  The Vice  President   will translate complex  land  use, policy and development initiatives into clear and compelling communications for NYCEDC’s senior leadership, elected  o fficials, community leaders,  and key stakeholders, while helping build and mai ntai n  strong relationships that support NYCEDC ’s mission and projects .    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Stakeholder Engagement    Work  with the GovCo team and the External Affairs division to develop and implement comprehensive engagement plans.    Develop ,  implement  and oversee  comprehensive engagement strategies to advance  NYCEDC’s  polic ies  and   prioritie s about NYCEDC ’s  Brooklyn - based and citywide transportation projects, and other areas and initiatives as assigned   En gage in high level negotiations around U LUR P and  points of  agreements for key projects   Strategic Communication    Oversee the creation and delivery of PowerPoint presentations, memos or strategic plans for key stakeholders (e.g. EDC senior staff, City Hall, elected officials, community boards, community-based organizations and other external partners).   Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and other city agencies to support the team’s objectives and outcomes.   Work with  leadership at NYC EDC and City Hall to present recommendations and provide strategic guidance.   Communicate in a way that is sensitive to different audiences and present information and recommendations in a clear, concise manner.   Pre pare leadership for meetings, hearings, public testimony, and high-level stakeholder engagements     Relationship  Management and Leadership    Identify and proactively manage emerging issues, vulnerabilities, and opportunities affecting  NYCEDC   Manage and coach assigned employees; ensure employees are oriented to their position and provided with appropriate training, development, and continuing education on an ongoing basis.   Help create a culture within the team that supports professional development and career growth.    Help promote a collaborative, high performing organizational culture that fosters passion for the mission, program excellence, teamwork, and a shared purpose.   Identify new opportunities for the GovCo team to engage with elected officials, community-based organizations, advocates, and other city agencies.   Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., political science, public policy, or communications) Minimum of 7 years of experience working wi
