Veterinary Assistant Intern - Multiple Locations!Racine Campus - Mount Pleasant, WI 53177Ozaukee Campus - Saukville, WI 53080Milwaukee Campus - Milwaukee, WI 53208 Position TypeInternship How you’ll impact our mission:The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a Veterinary Assistant Intern for a summer internship at multiple locations including our Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Racine Campuses! This is an unpaid, seasonal internship scheduled up to 30 hours per week. This internship is ideal for those interested in veterinary or shelter medicine fields and provides the opportunity to assist our veterinary staff with a variety of duties and gain valuable experience. Interns are responsible for their own transportation and living arrangements. If you’re looking for an opportunity that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and people while working alongside a supportive team, apply today!Key accountabilitiesPreparing and/or administering animal treatmentsShadowing surgery preparation and surgical recoveryAssisting with the movement of patients, recovery of patients, and general flowCleaning of veterinary clinic and exam roomsAssisting with foster animal exams and rechecksQualificationsAble to successfully meet the physical demands of the job, which include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
