As a   Vascular Technologist , you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care by performing advanced vascular ultrasound examinations. In this role, you will work closely with physicians to help diagnose and evaluate a wide range of vascular conditions through non-invasive ultrasound imaging. Your   expertise   will directly contribute to   timely ,   accurate   diagnoses and treatment plans, ensuring patients receive the exceptional care they deserve. Vascular Technologists practice with   a high level   of autonomy, performing comprehensive ultrasound examinations, recognizing urgent or abnormal findings, and providing preliminary technical assessments for physician review.   Strong critical thinking and attention to detail are essential, as your work has a direct impact on patient outcomes. Success in this role also requires excellent communication and collaboration. You will interact daily with patients, physicians, nurses, and caregivers, creating a positive patient experience while supporting a culture of teamwork, safety, and clinical excellence. A caregiver in this position works   days from   8:00AM – 4:30PM . A caregiver who excels in this role will: • Perform ultrasound studies specific to veins and arteries, including carotid, aorta, mesenteric,   renal   and celiac cardiac   mapping   and pulse volume recordings. • Review patient history, obtain brief current patient history and   determine   the   appropriate procedure(s)   necessary for proper diagnosis, consulting with physician if there are any questions concerning the ultrasound exam. • Notify physicians of abnormal findings. • Prepare patients for examination, explain the   procedure   and   assist   patients on/off examination table and with dressing/undressing, as   required . • Perform technical procedures in the application of duplex imaging and other non-invasive procedures on peripheral arteries . • Maintain   appropriate testing   documentation in patient medical   record   and a file copy of all examinations performed. • Accurately complete financial documentation for billing procedure. • Perform ultrasound and pulse volume recording studies at the hospital bedside, in the inpatient setting and in the outpatient clinics to report findings to the care provider. • Assist   with interpretation of study results. • Correlate non-invasive vascular laboratory study results with other diagnostic studies performed (e.g., arteriograms, venograms, CT scans, and MRI). • Evaluate images and make preliminary decisions on patient findings . • Serve as a senior technical resource for the   N on- I nvasive   V ascular   L aboratory. • Assist   in the correlation of   V ascular   L aboratory studies   and in   clinical research as outlined by the medical director of the   N on- I nvasive   V ascular   L aboratory. • Participate in the evaluation of new equipment and procedures . Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: • Graduate of, or currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or graduation expected within six months of the date of hire OR a hospital-based program leading to registry eligibility under CCI or ARDMS • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or registry eligible (Appropriate national registry must be completed within one year of hire) • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification • Demonstrate   proficiency   with non-invasive vascular laboratory equipment and procedures • Good verbal and interpersonal skills to interact with patients,   families   and physicians • Knowledge of the use and application of diagnostic imaging instrumentation including pulse volume recordings, treadmill testing, duplex imaging systems,   Doppler   and portable continuous-wave Doppler • Knowledge of databases, image storage, and electronic medical   record • In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology as related to the circulatory system (usually   attained   in a training program) Physical Requirements: • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. • Requires standing or walking for extensive periods of time. • Requires normal or corrected hearing and vision to normal range. • May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
