The Role
Hermanson Company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a focus on union payroll operations. This role is responsible for union reporting, reconciliations, audits, and onboarding to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and accuracy in payroll-related data.
The ideal candidate brings strong payroll experience, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate and timely union reports in accordance with CBAs.
Reconcile union reports to payroll and investigate discrepancies.
Support union audits, including documentation, responses, and issue resolution.
Manage union employee setup, classifications, and rate maintenance.
Maintain compliance with union requirements and payroll regulations.
Partner with payroll, HR, and operations to ensure accurate labor reporting.
The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. (The compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience).
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of payroll experience, preferably with multi-union and multi-state payroll
Strong understanding of payroll processes, reconciliations, and compliance
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems (e.g., ADP or similar)
Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
Preferred
Construction or project-based experience
Experience with union audits or certified payroll
