Role Overview
This position focuses on delivering high-quality instruction in computer science and information technology programmes, while actively contributing to the university's research output and academic community. The role combines teaching, student mentorship, and scholarly activities to support the institution's strategic educational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across undergraduate and postgraduate courses as assigned by the department head.
• Design, develop, and implement new programme content and course materials, ensuring they meet current academic standards and industry relevance.
• Regularly review and update existing curricula and teaching resources to reflect advancements in the field and feedback from students and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum design, course revisions, and the development of interdisciplinary research initiatives.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, prepare grant proposals, and seek external funding to support scholarly projects.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences, workshops, and symposia, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students, supervise dissertations or projects, and mentor junior faculty or teaching assistants.
• Participate in departmental and university committees, accreditation processes, and other service activities as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of relevant work experience after the postgraduate qualification, preferably in academic teaching or research.
• Demonstrated ability or clear potential to teach at the university level and to conduct publishable research.
• A strong commitment to pedagogical excellence and to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
