Lecturer in Hospitality and Tourism Management
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced academic to join our department. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and curriculum development in Hospitality and Tourism Management, with a strong focus on practical kitchen and restaurant operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department.
• Design, develop, plan, and deliver a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
• Deliver high-quality lectures and practicals.
• Review course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes, and the development of research activities.
• Carry out research and write research grant proposals.
• Seek and participate in consultancies.
• Present research papers at national or international conferences and other similar events.
• Disseminate research outputs.
• Provide mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description.
Qualifications and Experience
• A Master's degree qualification in Hospitality and Tourism Management from an accredited university.
• A Bachelor's degree qualification in Hospitality and Tourism Management from an accredited university.
• At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
• Demonstrated university-level teaching and research experience.
• Conversant with both kitchen and restaurant operations.
• Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
