Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and qualified French Lecturer to join our university faculty. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in French language and literature, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in scholarly research. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, stimulating learning environment that supports student success and academic excellence. Key Responsibilities • Conduct university-level teaching in French language, literature, and culture courses. • Design and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments to ensure rigorous academic standards. • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, promoting their intellectual and professional growth. • Engage in active research and scholarly publications within the field of French studies. • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional service activities. • Contribute to a positive, collaborative learning environment that values diversity and inclusive pedagogy. Qualifications and Experience • A Bachelor's and Master's of Arts degree in French from a recognised/accredited University. • At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience. • Demonstrated university-level teaching and research. • Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students. Desired Skills and Attributes • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in French and English. • Ability to integrate technology and innovative pedagogies into teaching. • Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity, such as publications or conference presentations. • Experience in curriculum development and assessment design. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
