Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a creative industry professional with exceptional illustration and visual communication skills who is passionate about education and committed to inspiring the next generation of fashion designers.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging practical and theoretical classes in Creative Fashion Illustration.
• Teach both traditional and digital fashion illustration, developing students’ ability to communicate design concepts through expressive and professional visual language.
• Guide students in figure drawing, garment rendering, silhouette development, fabric and texture illustration, colour application, composition, and storytelling.
• Support students in developing strong manual drawing techniques using a variety of traditional media, including pencil, ink, markers, watercolour, gouache, and mixed media.
• Teach digital illustration using Procreate and other industry-relevant digital drawing software.
• Encourage experimentation with different illustration styles while developing each student’s individual creative identity.
• Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and assessment in line with programme learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Fashion Design Department Programme leader to maintain high academic standards and deliver an exceptional student learning experience.
Essential Requirements
• A Master’s degree in Fashion Illustration, Fashion Design, Fine Art, Visual Communication, or a closely related discipline.
• Professional industry experience in fashion illustration, fashion design, or creative visual communication.
• Outstanding manual drawing and fashion illustration skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Procreate and strong knowledge of digital illustration workflows.
• Excellent understanding of fashion proportions, anatomy, garment rendering, colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Previous teaching or mentoring experience in higher education is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating excellence in both traditional and digital fashion illustration.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or other digital illustration software.
• Knowledge of animation, motion illustration, or digital storytelling would be an advantage.
• Experience integrating illustration with digital fashion technologies or AI-assisted creative tools.
• Experience working with international fashion, luxury, or creative brands.
