The Trolley Collector is responsible for ensuring shopping trolleys are collected, returned, and made available for customers across Gyle Shopping Centre and associated car parks.  This is a physically demanding outdoor role requiring the successful candidate to work in all weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and presentation throughout the centre. The role plays a key part in delivering a positive customer experience by keeping trolley bays organised, car parks free from obstructions, and ensuring customers have access to trolleys when required.  Key Responsibilities    Collect shopping trolleys from car parks, external areas, and designated collection points across the site.  Return trolleys safely and efficiently to customer access points and trolley bays.  Ensure trolley stores remain tidy, organised, and adequately stocked throughout the day.  Remove abandoned trolleys from roadways, pedestrian walkways, landscaped areas, and other inappropriate locations.  Report damaged or defective trolleys for repair or replacement.  Site Presentation  Support the overall appearance and cleanliness of external areas.  Carry out litter picking and basic housekeeping duties within designated external zones where required.  Help maintain safe and obstruction-free pedestrian and vehicle routes.  Report any hazards, defects, or maintenance issues identified during patrols.  Customer Service  Provide a friendly and professional service to customers and visitors.  Assist customers with enquiries and directions when required.  Promote a positive image of The Gyle through professional behaviour and appearance.  Support centre events and operational activities as directed.  Health & Safety  Follow all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.  Use trolley collection equipment safely and correctly.  Maintain awareness of vehicle and pedestrian movements within the car parks.  Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.  Wear all required PPE and uniform provided.  Team Working  Work closely with security, cleaning, and centre management teams.  Provide support during busy trading periods and special events.  Participate in training, toolbox talks, and competency assessments.  Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required.    Person Specification    Physically fit and capable of undertaking a demanding manual role involving extensive walking, pushing, pulling, and working outdoors.  Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout the year.  Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.  Good communication and customer service skills.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.  Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.  Desirable Requirements  Previous experience in a customer service, retail, facilities, or trolley collection role.  Basic understanding of health and safety practices.    Benefits We’re proud to offer a great range of benefits including: 24/7 GP: Both you and your immediate family can speak to a UK-b
