The role
Design and deliver exceptional, tailor-made travel experiences throughout New Zealand and Australia, driving sales growth and supporting the Inbound team's profitability and performance targets.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Consistently achieve individual and team sales and revenue targets
• Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through proactive follow-up and relationship management
• Create bespoke luxury travel itineraries that reflect the high standards and expectations of A&K guests
• Qualify client requirements and tailor quotations/bookings to individual needs and preferences
• Prepare accurate, detailed, and commercially viable proposals and itineraries
• Conduct additional destination, product, and logistical research where required to enhance itinerary quality
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain proactive communication with clients, agents, and international offices.
• Respond to enquiries within established service standards
• Manage expectations throughout the sales and booking process, ensuring a seamless client experience.
• Work collaboratively with Operations Specialists and Guest Relations Specialists to ensure successful travel delivery.
• Proofread all final documentation to ensure accuracy and presentation standards are maintained.
• Manage all booking-related administration within AKTGs Reservations Systems.
• Ensure accuracy of bookings, invoicing, deposits, payments, credits, cancellations, supplier costs, and profit margins.
• Manage domestic and trans tasman flight reservations and ticketing requirements with the Air Specialist.
• Ensure all product and quality control issues are logged for appropriate follow up to be taken
• Provide support to Operations and Guest Relations teams for guests in destination during high season periods where required.
The successful applicant will have:
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the travel industry.
• Previous experience in a reservations, sales, travel consulting, or customer service role.
• Demonstrated ability to create and cost tailor-made FIT itineraries.
• Excellent destination knowledge of Australia and New Zealand.
• Strong sales, customer service, and relationship management skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
• Experience using a Global Distribution System (GDS), preferably Amadeus, would be an advantage
• Experience using travel reservation and booking systems.
Other information:
• Up to two weeks of domestic and/or international travel may be required annually, including participation in familiarisation trips.
• Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required for industry events, training sessions, trade functions, and operational requirements.
