Transportation Engineering Leader Benesch is seeking to hire a Project Manager or Engineering Technical Lead to increase our Transportation Design and Construction Engineering presence and lead activities in Nebraska. This is an experienced position involving exciting, challenging, and complex assignments with opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable marketing and delivering projects, developing staff, and developing and maintaining good industry connections and relationships at the state and local levels. Strong project and people management skills are required. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in design of roadways, highways, and interstates from preliminary to final.  Location This position will be based out of any of our Nebraska offices including Omaha, NE; Lincoln, NE; Grand Island, NE; and Bellevue, NE. Key Projects Across Nebraska Some examples of past and current projects that our Roadway team is working on: Lincoln South Beltway: Benesch served as the lead consultant for the $352 million Lincoln South Beltway project in Nebraska, providing environmental assessment, design, geotechnical services, and construction support. The project completed Lincoln’s circumferential transportation network, improving regional connectivity and reducing urban congestion through 43 miles of roadway, 23 bridges, and multiple interchanges. US-81: This project is ongoing and will expand the corridor to a four-lane expressway between York and Columbus.  Benesch is the lead consultant and responsible for providing roadway and bridge design. US-26: This project is ongoing and will Focus on expanding the corridor to a four-lane expressway between Minatare and US-385.   Benesch is the lead consultant and responsible for providing roadway, drainage, and bridge design. The Impact You Will Have Lead development and delivery of projects having local, state, and regional benefits. Participate in Business Development including networking, proposal preparation, and contracts. Coordinate staff activities to assure achieving goals of project budget, schedule, and quality. Support various local, regional, and corporate initiatives. What We Are Looking For B.S. Degree in Engineering, or related, and Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain one in Nebraska are required. Excellent communication, strong written, oral, and client relation skills, experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders. Experience in making presentations before elected officials and advisory boards, attending conferences, and participating in interviews. Strong organization and leadership skills including development of professional staff. Experience managing single and multi-discipline projects and professional teams, including contracting, cost control, staff and subconsultant coordination, and quality assurance/quality control.
