Pertemps Leeds is seeking two Transport Clerks to join a busy logistics operation in Normanton. This full-time, temporary role involves supporting daily transport activities within a drinks distribution environment. Working a rotational shift pattern covering days, afternoons, or nights, you will receive a competitive rate of £14.89 per hour plus premiums for weekend and night shifts. Key duties include booking out drivers, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth operational flow. Job Title: Transport Clerk X2 Location: Wakefield, WF6 Hours: Rotational Shift Pattern Rate of Pay: £14.89ph, Weekend and Night Shift Premium Days: 06:00am – 14:00pm, Monday to Friday Afternoons: 14:00pm – 22:00pm, Sunday - Thursday Nights 22:00pm – 06:00pm, Sunday - Thursday Contract: Long-term temporary assignment, with potential for permanent placement We are currently recruiting for 2X Transport Clerk's to join a busy transport office based in Wakefield. This is a fast-paced role supporting daily transport operations within a drinks logistics environment. The successful candidates will be organised, reliable, and confident working in a busy operational setting. The ability to work independently and make decisions when required is essential. Key Responsibilities: Booking out drivers at the start of shift and issuing driver packs, including delivery notes and run sheets generated from the ESP system Monitoring driver progress throughout the day, recording any delays or issues, and communicating updates to Customer Services to ensure customers are kept informed Logging vehicle and trailer defects and reporting these to maintenance providers, ensuring the Axcend system is accurately updated Completing driver debriefs on return using the ESP system and ensuring all paperwork, including PODs, is correctly processed and filed Candidate Requirements: Previous experience within a Transport office is essential Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with drivers and internal departments Able to work using own initiative and manage workload effectively Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills Basic IT skills; experience using ESP or similar transport management systems is advantageous This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term role within a busy transport operation, for more information please contact Cathryn Smedley on 0113 246 9339.
