The Trainee Technician Fitter position based in Swadlincote is a full-time, minimum six-month contract offering a salary between £26,000 and £27,000 per annum. Working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, you will join the Engineering Division, splitting your time between the workshop and customer sites. The Role As a Trainee Technician Fitter, you'll work alongside senior engineers to inspect, repair and maintain industrial equipment. This is a practical, hands-on position designed for someone looking to develop their engineering skills and build a long-term career. Full training will be provided, including manufacturer courses and ongoing mentoring. What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates who: Have a genuine interest in mechanical engineering. Enjoy working on cars, motorbikes, machinery or DIY projects. Are confident using basic hand tools such as spanners, sockets and torque wrenches. Are eager to learn, ask questions and take on new skills. Can follow instructions and respond positively to feedback. Are comfortable working in a busy workshop and industrial site environment. Have a strong work ethic and enjoy practical, physical work. Experience Previous experience in a hands-on mechanical or industrial environment is highly desirable, including: Garages or vehicle maintenance Manufacturing or factory environments Construction Warehousing Mechanical assembly or fitting Any other practical engineering or technical role Specialist training on bulk handling equipment, magnetic separators and vibratory feeders will be provided. Qualifications Essential: GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in Maths, English and Science. Desirable: Level 1 or Level 2 City & Guilds or BTEC in Engineering or Performing Engineering Operations.
