Trainee Installation Technician – Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems UK Wide (Stay-Away Required) | £25,500 – £26,500 + Overtime + Bonus + Commission + Vehicle Must be based in either Cardiff or Newport Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality service and providing an exceptional customer experience? A well-established engineering business—operating successfully for nearly 50 years—is looking for a dedicated Specialist Installation Technician to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to develop their technical skills within the world of automated storage and retrieval systems. What’s on Offer • Unique OEM product training • Mechanical & electrical skill development • Clear career progression • Permanent role with a long-standing, stable employer • Competitive salary • Daily food allowance • All tools, workwear & PPE provided • Monday to Friday working • Overtime opportunities (time ½ + double time on Sundays) • Team company vehicle (can be taken home) Key Responsibilities • Offloading automated storage and retrieval systems • Installation, initialisation, and commissioning of automated systems • Basic electrical fault-finding • Conducting daily inspections on mobile plant • Ensuring compliance with all service documentation and paperwork • Completion of online training modules • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and H&S regulations Applicant Requirements • Previous manual handling experience • Mechanical or electrical knowledge (advantageous, not essential) • Experience working remotely (preferred) • CSCS/Safe Pass (preferred) • Strong desire to develop skills within automated storage & retrieval systems • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Good understanding of Health & Safety • Able to follow written and verbal instructions • Physically fit due to the nature of the role • Full UK driving licence Package & Benefits • 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (stay-away required) • £25,500–£26,500 base salary • Get put through BTEC Electrical Qualification fully funded • Overtime: time and a half + double time on Sundays • Commission: £500 per installed machine, split across the team – averaging ~£7,000 extra per person per year • Company van/vehicle (personal use to/from home) • 25 days holiday + bank holidays • Annual bonus scheme (approx. 10%, discretionary) • All tools, PPE, and workwear provided If this role is of interest, please press apply or reach out to Ryan Guy on [email protected] or 07837434353.
