Location: Tunbridge Wells Garden Centre Hours: • Full Time: 39 hours per week, including alternate weekend working • Part Time: 6 hours every Saturday (11:30am – 5:30pm) The Opportunity At Tunbridge Wells Garden Centre, we're passionate about delivering exceptional customer service from the moment our customers arrive until they leave. We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic Till Operators to help create that experience. Available as either a full-time (39 hours per week) or part-time Saturday (11:30am–5:30pm) opportunity, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy retail environment and takes pride in providing outstanding service. As one of the first and last people our customers interact with, you'll play a key role in ensuring every visit is welcoming, efficient and memorable. From processing transactions accurately to assisting with customer enquiries and promoting our loyalty scheme, you'll help create a positive shopping experience every time. The Role As a Till Operator, you'll provide a warm welcome to every customer while delivering efficient and accurate service at the tills. You'll be responsible for processing purchases, handling payments, answering customer queries and promoting our loyalty scheme by explaining its benefits and helping customers sign up. You'll also support the wider garden centre team whenever needed to ensure the smooth running of the business. Key Responsibilities • Deliver friendly, efficient and professional customer service at the tills. • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. • Promote the Blue Diamond loyalty scheme and assist customers with new registrations. • Answer customer enquiries and provide helpful advice where appropriate. • Maintain a clean, tidy and organised till area. • Assist customers with carrying purchases to their vehicles when required. • Work closely with colleagues to provide an excellent shopping experience. • Support the wider garden centre team during busy trading periods. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. You'll have: • A friendly, approachable and positive attitude. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Confidence engaging with customers. • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions. • The ability to work well as part of a team. • Reliability and flexibility to work the required hours, including weekends. • Previous retail or till experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
