Our Values At UKAT, our work is guided by four core values that underpin everything we do: • Understanding – We listen without judgement and recognise every individual’s unique journey • Kindness – We lead with compassion, empathy, and respect • Accountability – We take responsibility for our actions, decisions, and standards of care • Teamwork – We work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our clients Main duties of the Therapist: • To contribute to assessments of clients within agreed timescales. • To deliver therapeutic support through group-work sessions and one to one interventions. • To contribute to regular reviews of the client with probation and health workers. • To counsel individuals about their substance use. • To help individuals address their substance use and offending behaviour. • To maintain records of the client attendance and participation in the group programme. • To explore, implement and supervise a range of approaches, activities and exercises, which are designed to promote health and support individuals through detoxification/stabilisation. • Ensure that all administration, case recording, written reports etc. are maintained accurately. • Where required, participate in activities and tasks which directly respond to client needs. • To safeguard Clients at all times, and follow all Safeguarding procedures. Essential criteria: • Experience of direct work with substance misusing clients. • Qualified counsellor/therapist (minimum Level 4 in counseling or equivalent). • Full membership to the BACP or NCPS and on the register (essential). • Experience of working in the field of addiction, substance misuse, or mental health. • Strong group facilitation and 1:1 counselling skills. • Compassionate, resilient, and able to maintain professional boundaries. • A team player with excellent communication skills. • Proven skills in planning and administration. • Ability and willingness to develop the treatment programme to suit client need. • Understanding of the importance of upholding quality standards and performance monitoring. • Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients. Personal qualities of the Therapist: • Ability to work as part of a team • Good communication and inter-personal skills • Ability to respond flexibly to the demands of the post Recruitment process: If you have been successful in your initial application; • You will have an initial phone conversation with the talent acquisition specialist which will be an informal chat and opportunity to ask questions about the position • If you are successful in your initial phone conversation, you will be required to undertake an interview on-site and then successful candidate will be invited back to carry out a second stage interview. • Our shortlisted candidates will be notified if they are successful within 5 working days post interview.
