A typical shift for a Teen Aide will include: • Working alongside the classroom teachers to provide a safe, healthy, structured, welcoming space to grow and learn. • Engaging with children in learning - reading, playing, and having fun! • Inspiring children to be lifelong learners. • Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app. • Assisting with keeping the classroom clean and organized. A Teen Aide will always be accompanied by a staff member and will never be left alone with children. This is a part time position, during after school hours (typically 2:30 / 3:00 – 5:30). Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. Requirements Looking for experience after school? Join our team as a Teen Aide. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children, preferably in a child care center. We are looking for someone who has the following skills: • A personal demeanor that is warm and friendly. • Verbal and written communication skills. • Reliable attendance and punctuality. • Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task. • Team-oriented and willing to work with others. Qualifications • 16 -18 years of age, must be actively enrolled in and attending high school. • CPR/First Aid certification preferred. • Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply. • Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS). • Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting). • Visual and hearing acuity. • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
