Description
apoQlar builds Mixed and Augmented Reality software for medicine with the VSI HoloMedicine® platform - a certified medical device (EU MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485). Our Patient Viewer turns medical imaging into a spatial, interactive experience on Android XR, Meta Quest and other XR devices. We are a focused team working directly with clinics and partners such as the Mayo Clinic.
As Technical Product Owner you own the Patient Viewer end-to-end: from roadmap and backlog through to a regulatory-clean release. You are the interface between engineering (XR/Unity/Android), clinical stakeholders and regulatory/quality — translating between these worlds without anything getting lost.
Tasks
• Own the product vision, roadmap and prioritized backlog for the Patient Viewer
Translate clinical and business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with XR engineering (Unity / Android XR, hand tracking, spatial UI, DICOM/NIFTI rendering).
• Ensure product decisions stay compatible with MDR / IEC 62304 / ISO 13485 (requirements, risk linkage, traceability) - in alignment with Quality/Regulatory.
Manage stakeholders across clinicians, partners and internal teams; gather and structure feedback.
• Drive releases, app-store preparation and the definition of measurable product goals.
• Support the global sales team.
Requirements
• Several years' experience as a Product Owner / Technical Product Owner for technically demanding software.
• Exposure to XR/AR/VR (Unity, Android XR, Meta Quest).
• Strong technical understanding (you can discuss architecture, trade-offs and APIs with engineers as a peer).
• Solid command of agile methods (Scrum/Kanban) and backlog/roadmap tooling (e.g. Jira).
• Structured, data-driven prioritization and excellent communication
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Experience with regulated medical software (EU MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
• Knowledge of medical imaging / DICOM / NIFTI / STL / GLB.
• Background in a clinical environment or working with medical professionals.
Benefits
• A product with real clinical impact — at the intersection of XR and medicine.
• Short decision paths and high ownership in a focused team.
• International partners and pioneering work in a fast-growing field.
• Flexible, hybrid working with a base in Hamburg
