We're looking for a Technical Lead to play a critical role in defining the future direction of our technology landscape. You'll act as a trusted technical authority, working across multiple teams to deliver secure, scalable and resilient solutions while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, helping engineers grow while influencing strategic technology decisions across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
• Defining and leading engineering strategy to deliver scalable, secure and maintainable technology solutions across the organisation
• Driving a coherent quality engineering approach through testing standards, automation and governance practices
• Promoting secure-by-design principles and ensuring security risks are identified and addressed effectively
• Establishing and evolving observability capabilities through logging, metrics, tracing and alerting frameworks
• Championing metrics-led engineering to improve delivery performance, reliability and customer outcomes
• Providing technical leadership on complex engineering challenges and guiding high-impact decision-making
• Influencing technology investments, architecture decisions and engineering best practices across multiple teams
• Mentoring, developing and empowering engineers while building a culture of continuous learning and excellence
Who we're looking for:
• Significant experience leading technical strategy and influencing engineering direction across complex technology environments
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, serverless technologies and microservices
• Deep understanding of software testing, quality engineering, CI/CD practices and Agile delivery methodologies
• Experience implementing secure software development practices and embedding security within engineering teams
• Strong knowledge of observability frameworks, reliability engineering and metrics-driven decision-making
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts and influence senior stakeholders effectively
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing engineers to achieve their full potential
• Strong technical background in technologies such as Java, AWS, Spring Framework, Node.js, Docker and modern software engineering practices
