Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include: Technical Product Managers, DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as programme managers. We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at Park Street, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds and Birmingham. Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2021 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Technical Delivery Manager to join HSBC Technology. We need someone to help us build and run our Agile software development teams, to create a world class Open API platform for HSBC by aligning to our Cloud first strategy. Your role will be to inspire, lead and drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices. Our product managers are all technical and key contributors to architecture and design. We’re looking for passionate, team loving, agile evangelising, technology enthusiasts to join the team and become part of our journey to shape and change the future of HSBC. What you will be doing: Technical Delivery Lead is accountable for successful delivery of Technology projects and ensuring benefits realization. The Delivery Lead role will hold most or all of these responsibilities: • Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes. • Support Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, budget • Work with the Technology teams and Product Owner to drive improvements in productivity through backlog management, maturity in the use of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean), and corresponding management of dependencies • Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realization • Oversee process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as: disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous DevOps pipelines development. • Help in the development and running of the programme management office or project management practice. • Ensure adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, Security controls and technology architecture designs • Establish effective governance and controls, in line with Business Transformation Framework and coordination of cross technology teams, cross Global Business/Global Functions delivery • Collaborate with others, and guide others on how software fits into the bigger picture Qualifications What you will bring to the role: To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills: • AWS Cloud knowledge and experience on Cloud platform. • Knowledge of REST APIs and utilising JSON for web or mobile applications • Knowledge of using AWS solutions using a combination of cloud native, 3rd party and on-premises technologies • CI/CD - tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus • Application Monitoring – AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, AppDynamics These roles will primarily be London cutting edge Technology Centre, but some travel may be required.
