This role ensures performance targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The Team Leader also oversees all material handling activities, including safe and efficient movement of goods using forklifts and other equipment. Hands-On Production Work Outbound loading & unloading and perform other tasks alongside team members. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate when necessary. Performance Monitoring Track team BPD (Business Plan Deployment – KPI’s) through SPQRCE Provide feedback and support performance improvements. Forklift Operation & Training Maintain valid forklift certification and operate equipment safely. Train and mentor team members on proper forklift operation and material handling procedures Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs. Communication Act as liaison between supervisors/management and team members. Report out any issues, delays, inventory shortages, or equipment concerns. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve processes, material flow, and reduce waste. Support lean manufacturing and workplace organization initiatives (e.g., 5S) S afety Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures. Ensure safe operation of forklifts and adherence to material handling safety standards; Conduct safety checks and promote a safe working environment. P eople Lead, coach, and support a team of material handlers and general laborers in the shop. Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet customer schedules. Train new employees and provide ongoing guidance; “Go & See” approach using tools such as LPA. Q uality Ensure parts are being delivered to the customer on-time and accurately. Completely daily QPV (Quality Prevention & Verification Checklist) R esponsiveness - Material Handling & Logistics Oversee all material handling activities, including receiving, staging, storage, and shipping of materials, safe operating of forklifts and other material handling equipment and ensure proper inventory flow to prevent operation or shipping delays, C ost Responsible for monitoring key monthly cost targets on BPD board for items such as scrap, rework etc. E nvironment Responsible for monitoring key monthly targets and continuous improvement on waste opportunities utilizing BPD board Requirements Valid driver’s licence Criminal background check, Drug Screen, and Post Offer Pre-employment physical Grade 12 education. College or University education or equivalent experience. Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills Valid Forklift License is preferred Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered. Wages are at $22.00 per hour.
