Description
Newly created junior leadership opportunity – start your management career with VMG Join a family-owned business with 80+ years of history and a clear, meaningful purpose, giving hope to borrowers the major banks turn away. A target-driven desk-based role with real career pathways through the VMG Grow program. Full time, permanent position. Melbourne headquarters, Monday to Friday. ABOUT US VMG is a well-established, family-owned financial institution with 80 years of history and a genuinely compelling purpose — giving hope to borrowers who've been turned away by the major banks. Through a flexible, human-centred approach to financial assessment, we’ve helped countless families secure their future and a place to call home, financing over 30,000 dwellings and counting. This isn't a corporate machine. We are a tight-knit team of seasoned banking and finance professionals that bring deep expertise and a shared belief that everyone deserves a fair shot at homeownership. The culture reflects the values of the family that built it, grounded, purposeful, and genuinely invested in the outcomes of the people they serve. THE OPPORTUNITY We are at an exciting point of our growth story. We are actively expanding our broker distribution network and building out a high-performing national sales team as part of a deliberate, structured growth initiative. The Business Development Associate team sits at the heart of that expansion. This newly created leadership role provides you with the opportunity to support a growing team of BD Associates, whilst also remaining on the tools and expanding your own sales capabilities. Based from VMG's Melbourne headquarters, this person will be responsible for growing VMG's broker network and contributing to loan book growth through outbound calling, virtual broker meetings, digital outreach, and proactive lead generation. This is not a field role, it focuses on achieving sales results whilst also supporting a well-connected, thriving and engaged team of BD Associates. It's a high-activity desk-based position that demands the energy of a top-performing sales professional — someone who builds real broker relationships without ever needing to be in the room. Partner with the National Sales Manager to lead, support, inspire, engage and motivate a team of 3 Business Development Associates. Proactively identify and generate new broker leads through outbound calling, email campaigns, and market research. Conduct virtual broker meetings and product presentations to build relationships with brokers and aggregator groups nationally. Manage and grow a portfolio of broker and aggregator relationships across multiple states. Consistently meet performance targets – in particular relating to outbound sales calls. Champion VMG's product range with confidence, handling objections and educating brokers on non-conforming lending solutions. Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene through Microsoft Dynamics and enter information that is accurate and timely. Support new broker accreditations, onboarding, and first submissions. Collaborate with the Credit and Broker Support teams to ensure seamless application processing and positive broker experiences. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are not looking for a generic sales professional. The person who succeeds in this role is self-managing, genuinely motivated by targets, comfortable in a lean business environment, and keen to learn, grow and develop their skills within this sector of the financial services industry. Able to work in the office location full time (Melbourne CBD). Solid interpersonal skills – you are naturally a people person and can lead from the front. You have a desire to grow as a manager and leader and have a personality and approach that helps you build trust and inspire results. Prior leadership experience is advantageous but not essential. Minimum 2 years in a sales, account management, or mortgage broking role i
