Location: Wythenshawe Contract: Day-to-day & ongoing roles Salary: £85 – £100 per day Balfor Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Level 2/3 Teaching Assistants to work in specialist and mainstream settings across Wythenshawe and nearby areas. These schools cater to children and young people aged 5–19 with a wide range of needs, including Autism (ASD), sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. Your Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them to thrive in both educational and therapeutic environments. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support aligned with EHCPs • Assist in delivering individualised learning and therapy programmes • Promote engagement in academic, sensory, and play-based activities • Support with personal care tasks (feeding, toileting, mobility) • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents • Encourage independence, communication, and emotional development What We’re Looking For: • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) • Experience working with children or young people with SEN needs • Comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training provided) • Familiarity with PECS , Makaton , or other communication tools (desirable) • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) • A calm, patient, and resilient attitude with a passion for inclusion Why Join Balfor? • Work with a specialist in education & SEND recruitment • Ongoing support from your dedicated consultant • Free CPD and training opportunities Interested?
