Teaching Assistant | SEN School Location: Southampton Salary: Competitive (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only Shifts: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Shift Times: To be discussed at interview Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School in Southampton, supporting children and young people with additional educational needs. This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Eastleigh, Totton, Romsey, Hedge End, Fareham, Winchester, Chandlers Ford and surrounding areas. As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ educational, emotional and social development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child can achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in promoting high standards of learning, behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing while working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to deliver high-quality support in line with the school’s values and policies. Requirements • A positive, caring and compassionate approach to supporting children and young people. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • A motivated, flexible and proactive approach to work. • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Professional, reliable and well organised. • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship.
