📍 Location: Lewisham 💷 Salary: £89 – £105 per day (PAYE) 📆 Contract: Full-time | Long-term | Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm) 🚀 Start: Immediate Are you an enthusiastic and committed individual with experience working with children in Early Years or Primary education? Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a reliable and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, inclusive mainstream primary school in Lewisham. This role involves supporting pupils across the classroom, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to help them achieve their full potential. 🔑 Key Responsibilities: • Support class teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and daily activities. • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs. • Assist with preparing resources, classroom organisation, and general administrative tasks. • Promote children’s emotional, social, and physical development, both in and out of class. • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment. • Support SEN pupils with tailored interventions and strategies. • Assist with extracurricular activities, such as after-school clubs, where required. ✅ Requirements: • Previous classroom-based experience working with children (Early Years or Primary preferred). • Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable. • A genuine interest in education and child development. • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff. • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 🌟 Why Choose Ortus Recruitment? • We are proud REC Corporate Members who prioritise high-quality recruitment and communication. • We place our candidates in supportive, well-run schools that value their staff. • We provide access to professional development opportunities and career progression. • Our team is friendly, experienced, and here to support you every step of the way.
