Position: Teaching Assistant Location: Portsmouth Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time Long-Term & Permanent Opportunities Pay Rate: £85 £100 per day (dependent on experience) About the Role September is one of the busiest times of the year for schools, and Supply Desk is recruiting enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support a range of welcoming primary, secondary and specialist schools across Portsmouth. Whether you're an experienced TA or looking to begin a rewarding career in education, we have opportunities supporting pupils in mainstream classrooms, SEND provisions and one-to-one roles. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils individually and in small groups. • Assist teachers with classroom activities. • Encourage confidence, independence and engagement. • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing. • Adapt support to meet individual learning needs. Candidate Requirements • Experience working with children is desirable. • Patient, caring and reliable approach. • Strong communication skills. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
