Empowering Learning is looking to appoint a motivated and innovative DT teacher initially on a temporary basis but this has the potential to go permanent for the right person, You will take a lead role in developing and strengthening a successful department. This role is ideal for someone with a solid Design Technology background who is passionate about improving outcomes, engaging students, and positively shaping young people's future pathways. Based within a secondary school in Oxfordshire, you will have a central role in influencing curriculum delivery and teaching practice across the department. You will support students in developing both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills that support progression into further education or employment. Working as part of a committed and encouraging team, you will contribute to the delivery of a modern, industry-focused curriculum in a well-equipped setting. As the school continues to expand and develop, we welcome applications from experienced practitioners who are keen to play a strategic role and support ongoing improvement. Who We're Looking For • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level across Key Stages 3 and 4 • Strong knowledge of practical workshop processes, materials, and health & safety procedures • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support student progress • Experience preparing students for GCSE Design Technology assessments and coursework We would love to hear from you if you: • Have experience working with children or young people in a school or similar educational setting • Hold a degree in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related subject (or have equivalent relevant experience) • Are confident leading learning, managing classrooms, and supporting students across KS4 and KS5 • Bring a positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching and leadership • Are motivated to support both student achievement and whole-school success • Have the confidence to deliver engaging lessons and contribute beyond your subject area when required • A strong focus on high-quality teaching and positive post-16 outcomes • A unique curriculum supported by excellent facilities, ICT, and specialist resources • Clear opportunities for career progression and professional development • Teaching focused exclusively on KS4 and KS5 • A fully supported laptop with up-to-date software to help reduce workload
