About This Role Teaching professionals play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of children. As a Teacher, you will be responsible for building a collaborative team, coordinating curriculum, and overseeing day-to-day classroom activities. To create a nurturing environment, you must be attuned to children’s social, emotional, and physical development. Effective communication with both children and adults is essential for meeting the needs of the children, guiding teaching assistants, and addressing parental concerns. What You'll Do • Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities grounded in best practices and early learning standards. • Lead by example and foster team success through coaching and modeling. • Design age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth. • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations. • Maintain a healthy and clean classroom environment, adhering to safety and security standards. • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols. • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files. • Develop a personal professional development plan to drive continuous quality improvement. Requirements • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE. • A strong understanding of child development. • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening. • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception. • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
