Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Tax Senior Manager to join the Energy & Natural Resources team of a leading professional services firm. This dynamic and forward-thinking organisation is known for its inclusive culture, collaborative leadership, and commitment to empowering people to grow and succeed.
The team supports clients across the Oil & Gas, Mining, Power & Utilities (including renewables), and Chemicals sectors. With the energy transition and global fiscal change reshaping the market, the team is expanding rapidly to meet increasing demand from a diverse portfolio of high-profile clients - including major UK and international groups.
The Role
This position offers the chance to work on complex and high-impact projects across transaction advisory, international tax and domestic tax advisory. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of projects, such as:
• Providing strategic tax input on transactions, including due diligence, structuring, refinancing and business reorganisations.
• Advising on cross-border matters, fiscal policy changes and evolving tax regimes such as BEPS 2.0 and Pillar 2.
• Supporting clients through periods of transformation - from new market entry to energy transition projects.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and globally to deliver seamless, value-adding advice.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with senior leaders to deliver exceptional client service on complex engagements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for both UK and international tax matters.
• Lead and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Review and prepare detailed technical analyses and commercial insights on a broad range of tax issues.
• Contribute to business development activities, supporting proposal writing and client pitches.
• Stay up to date with key UK and OECD tax developments, contributing to thought leadership initiatives.
About You
• Professionally qualified (CTA, ACA, CA or equivalent).
• Strong UK corporate tax knowledge, with an appreciation of international tax and accounting principles.
• Experienced in managing complex tax projects, ideally within the energy sector (though a strong interest and willingness to learn are equally valued).
• Excellent communicator with strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
• A proactive team player who enjoys building client relationships and leading by example.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Flexible Working
The firm recognises that everyone's circumstances are different. While some travel may be required, a range of flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available to help achieve the right balance between work and life commitments.
