As a member of our Credits, Incentives and Methods – Energy and Excise team, you will   advise   clients who are developing innovative clean energy projects and   advise   them on implementation of the provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. You will also work on excise tax technical issues and   controversy   matters. Background in energy industry is highly desirable R esponsibilities • Manage collaborative team advising clients on federal energy credits and excise tax. • Developed industry and technical   expertise   with federal energy credits and / or excise tax. • Directly consult with clients and engagement teams. • Serve as   in -charge on projects; oversee day-to-day tasks, delegate to staff, lead internal meetings, and coordinate projects with clients. • Review credit computations, workpapers, tax opinions, and   supporting   materials; manage client relationships and expectations, ensuring quality and efficiency; support sales of potential projects. • Understand and address credit   utilization   issues including general business credit   limitation , other limitations, and risk limitations. • Analyze and understand the materiality and risk of a problem/issue and discuss solutions and implications with project leaders/partners. • Competent at performing technical   review   of relevant forms for correctness and evaluation   for   issues and exposure. • Ability to review client and   prospect   information to look for planning opportunities. • Initiate client service planning meetings to develop a plan to become the first-choice advisor;   participate   in developing client service plans for the firm’s priority and crown jewel clients. • Analyze and understand the audit risk on materiality issues and estimates; adequately document and discuss implications and solutions with the client. • Support   controversy   matters with taxing authority. • Proficient with basic features of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficient in creating Pivot Tables and other relevant advanced Excel functions where specialization   deems   appropriat e Minimum   Q ualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting   or related field from an accredited university One of the following is   required : active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office; active Enrolled Agent (EA) license; active Attorney license; or a pre ‑ approved alternative certification that meets RSM requirements • Minimum five years of Tax experience • Strong computer skills, including   proficiency   in Microsoft Excel • Demonstrates the ability   to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and   in accordance with   firm and client standards. • Communicates   clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means. • Demonstrates effective   project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and   maintain   accuracy and quality of work in a fast-paced, client service environment. • Works effectively   in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer and other standard office equipment. • Maintains   a consistent onsite presence during core business hours, regularly reporting to a   firm   office location and traveling to client sites as   required , including access to reliable transportation. • Demonstrates flexibility to work   extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs. At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $100,000 - $189,200 Individuals  selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
