Description
We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a well-established public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, and individuals. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 3–5 years of public accounting experience and a strong emphasis on tax preparation, planning, and client advisory services. The ideal candidate has significantly more experience in tax than audit and enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex tax matters, and building lasting professional relationships. This position offers exposure to a diverse client base, challenging tax engagements, and a clear path for continued professional growth within a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local business tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and S corporations Prepare complex individual income tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth clients Conduct tax research and assist with planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer tax-related questions, and provide guidance Identify tax-saving opportunities and planning recommendations throughout the year Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and filing requirements Collaborate with partners and senior staff on client engagements and consulting projects Assist with special tax projects and other advisory services as needed Requirements 3–5 years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax Strong experience preparing business and complex individual tax returns Significantly more tax experience than audit or assurance Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and client relationship abilities CPA license or CPA candidate preferred, but not required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Ability to work on-site in Allentown, Pennsylvania Benefits 100% employer-paid employee health insurance SIMPLE retirement plan with dollar-for-dollar employer match up to 3% Overtime worked beyond the first 60 hours each year converts into additional paid time off Employees commonly accumulate 4–6 weeks of PTO annually Collaborative, team-oriented public accounting environment Direct mentorship and access to firm partners Long-term career growth and professional development opportunities
