Description
About This Opportunity If you’re a tax professional who values real work-life balance—not just a tagline—this role is for you. We’re partnering with a respected, 12-person CPA firm in Orland Park, Illinois, where the culture is built on collaboration, longevity, and genuine respect for your time. Here, you won’t just prepare returns; you’ll become a trusted advisor to clients across industries, all while keeping your evenings and weekends intact. Ready to grow your career without burning out? Let’s talk. What You’ll Do You’ll take ownership of a diverse mix of tax work, from individual returns to complex business filings. Your days will be a blend of technical preparation and direct client interaction—no silos, no busywork. Specifically, you’ll: • Prepare 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120 tax returns with accuracy and confidence. • Work directly with clients as a trusted advisor, helping them navigate tax questions and planning opportunities. • Dive into bookkeeping, QuickBooks, and financial reporting for a variety of small business clients—from local retailers to professional services. • Gain exposure to tax planning strategies and a broad range of industries, keeping your work fresh and your skills sharp. What You Bring You have 2–3 years of public accounting tax experience under your belt, and you’re ready to step into a role where your expertise is valued—and your growth is supported. • Strong 1040 preparation experience is non-negotiable. • You’ve prepared 1065, 1120, and 1120S returns. • QuickBooks and Lacerte experience? That’s a big plus. • CCH Axcess familiarity is nice to have, but not required. • You’re on a CPA track or already a candidate—ideal, but not mandatory. Why People Stay Here This isn’t a firm that talks about work-life balance and then expects 70-hour weeks during tax season. Here, the commitment is real. • Hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office, 1 day remote—flexibility without losing connection. • Reasonable busy-season hours: You’ll work hard, but you’ll still have a life. • Stable, tenured team: Most people stay for years. That says everything about the culture. • Direct client interaction: You’re not just a preparer—you’re a partner in their success. • Benefits that matter: 100% employer-paid individual health insurance premium. • Compensation: $70,000–$83,000 per year, plus a 5% annual performance bonus. If you’re looking for a long-term home where you can build your tax career without sacrificing your personal life, this is it. Let’s have a confidential conversation.
