Description
WHY JOIN IVO?
Every civilization runs on the same infrastructure: agreements between people who don't fully trust each other. Sumerians pressed them into clay. Romans carved them into stone. We bury them in 80-page PDFs.
The way those agreements are reviewed hasn't changed in four thousand years - a human reads the whole thing and tries not to miss anything. We're building the AI that finally changes that. Ivo is the contract intelligence platform of choice for companies like Uber, Meta, Canva, IBM, and Shopify. We recently raised our Series B and have grown 800% over the last 12 months.
About the Role
Ivo’s Talent team is early. Until recently, the company had not worked with a true recruiting team, and a lot of the muscle around structured hiring, trust with Talent, and high-quality pipeline is still being built. That is the opportunity.
We’re hiring a Talent Partner to add serious bandwidth to the recruiting team and help build the Talent function from 0 to 1. This person will own hard searches, especially technical roles, while also flexing across GTM. They will source, assess, interview, close, attend and run industry events, and partner directly with leaders across the business. The bar is high: we need someone who can create pipeline without making excuses, keep quality high, and earn trust by becoming a true subject-matter expert in the roles, teams, product, and talent markets they support.
This is not a mature recruiting seat where the playbook is handed to you. Things are evolving. Processes are not fully built. It is messy, and that is part of the fun. The right person will help define how Talent partners with the business at Ivo and will become an integral part of how we hire the team that builds the company.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN / ACHIEVE
- Build high-quality pipeline for hard technical and GTM searches, especially when the obvious sourcing channels are not working.
- Partner with hiring managers and leaders as a true consultative Talent Partner: push back, explain candidate tradeoffs, help the team make hard decisions, and keep the quality bar high.
- Become deeply fluent in Ivo’s product, teams, technical org, GTM motion, and talent markets so you can sell the opportunity credibly to exceptional candidates.
- Assess candidates with real judgment, not vibes. You’ll help the team understand where candidates are strong, where they are weak, and what tradeoffs we are making.
- Close candidates in competitive processes by understanding candidate psychology, motivations, concerns, and decision dynamics.
- Help Ivo build market presence by attending industry events, helping run events and programs, and turning those relationships into strong candidate pipeline.
- Build trust in the Talent function by moving quickly, communicating directly, and showing leaders that recruiting is an asset to the business.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- Strong technical recruiting experience, with a real understanding of technical talent, engineering teams, and how different technical functions work together.
- Startup experience. You know what it feels like to operate in an environment where the process is still being built and speed matters.
- Strong sourcing ability. You can build pipeline from scratch, map markets, test new channels, and keep pushing when the easy path does not work.
- Strong talent judgment. You know how to assess candidate quality, identify tradeoffs, and separate polish from real ability.
- Strong negotiation and closing ability. You can understand what matters to a candidate and help them make a high-conviction decision.
- High integrity and discretion. You will have access to confidential candidate, compensation, company, and leadership information, and we need to trust your judgment completely.
- A consultative partnership style. You can build trust with leaders, be direct, hold strong opinions loosely, and have hard conversations without damaging the relationship.
