Description
CIC is a global workspace and innovation platform company founded in 1999, operating coworking spaces, laboratories, and event venues across North America, Europe, and Asia. This role is a Systems & Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions, with a focus on network reliability, security, scalability, and physical access control systems across CIC's global campus network.
What You'll Do
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and configure extensive Wi-Fi networks with hundreds of access points and low-footprint network stacks (Extreme/Ruckus)
• Set up and manage scalable physical access control systems including thousands of door locks and user access cards across global campuses
• Deploy, operate, and maintain core systems including Google Workspace, GCP, Atlassian JIRA Service Management, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and Windows and Linux VMs
• Monitor network traffic and system usage patterns to proactively plan capacity expansion and support growing demand
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and change management records; collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in on-call rotation for network emergencies
What You Need
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience as a Systems/Network Engineer with demonstrated expertise in network design and implementation
• Advanced or native-level Japanese language and business-level or above English language proficiency
• Deep understanding of network protocols, technologies, and best practices; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose complex IT issues
• Working knowledge of network equipment such as eXtreme Networks, Ruckus, Cisco, or Juniper; knowledge of network security principles including Zero Trust and SASE
• Experience with IT Service Management principles and familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios or Zabbix
Nice to Have
• Experience working with globally distributed teams
• ITIL certification
• Experience with physical access control systems
• Experience with one of the leading Cloud IaaS/PaaS providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
