Description
SMX is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide advanced Tier II and Tier III enterprise support for the European Support Center in Wiesbaden, Germany. The selected candidate will serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure, virtualization, and intelligence systems issues while providing reach-back engineering support to local Tier II support teams and Tier III support across the European theater. This position works closely with U.S.-based engineering, cybersecurity, and network teams to troubleshoot enterprise infrastructure, perform root cause analysis, and implement resilient technical solutions supporting CI-DPED, DCGS, and other mission-critical intelligence capabilities. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient systems engineer with experience supporting DoD enterprise environments and a commitment to ensuring high availability and operational readiness for globally deployed intelligence systems. This is a full-time onsite position in Wiesbaden, Germany. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provides Systems Engineering support. Functions as the primary on-site Subject Matter Expert for Converged Infrastructure (CI) Distributed Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (DPED) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment and Distributed Common Ground System-Army Services (DCGS). Primary POC to support United States Army in troubleshooting and mitigating Intelligence Architecture issues. Provides in-depth technical support to assess issues and provide solutions for problems. Provides expert service support through interface with United States based engineers for problem resolution or new feature creation. Performs root cause analysis for user problems, through duplication, using product designs, code, or specifications, as necessary. Provides technical support for system maintenance, backup, and resiliency planning. Identifies and documents operational issues and implements rectified operational solutions. Collaborates in a team environment to leverage and coordinate with DoD and contract network engineers and field operations support technicians in Germany, Hawaii, and CONUS. Provides on-site or remote support to troubleshooting efforts outside of Germany but within the global CI DPED, as directed. Provides direct support to the INSCOM G7 Forward Liaison forward stationed at Wiesbaden, Germany in support of the 66th Military Intelligence Brigade and its subordinate units, as a technical source and Project Manager for matters concerning the CI DPED and DCGS.
