Role Overview ESG Analysts apply hands-on sustainability, carbon accounting, and environmental compliance expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert-level analyses and data outputs that improve AI understanding of ESG workflows and practices. This is an ongoing, project-based, hourly contract role that can be completed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment. Key Responsibilities • Evaluate AI-generated sustainability and ESG content using your professional judgment in carbon accounting, GHG reporting, and environmental compliance. • Produce expert-level analytical work and structured data outputs that reflect real professional practice and workflows. • Complete real work tasks in a project format, for example building price forecast models or developing power purchase agreement documentation and related deliverables. • Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams, providing clear written feedback and annotations that help improve model behavior. Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental compliance. • Relevant roles include Sustainability Manager, ESG Analyst, Carbon Accounting Manager, GHG Inventory Lead, Environmental Compliance Manager, EHS Manager, or equivalent positions in the energy or industrial sectors. • Hands-on experience with one or more of these tools: Persefoni, GaBi, EPA eGGRT, VelocityEHS. • Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with distributed research teams. Work Terms • Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time. • Fully remote, flexible asynchronous schedule, no minimum hour requirement. • Typical contributor commitment when participating in an active project is approximately 5 to 20 hours per week. • Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, with consideration for future project opportunities as they become available. Compensation • Up to $80/hr (depending on the project). Eligibility • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for participation, subject to your school rules. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility. • If your school requires a CPT course enrollment for authorization, these project roles may not meet that requirement. • STEM OPT is not supported for these project roles.
