Description
About This Opportunity This isn’t just another drafting gig. It’s a chance to be the technical backbone of survey projects that shape the New York City skyline and beyond. At KnowHireMatch.com, we’re looking for a Survey Technician who thrives on precision, takes pride in clean plan presentations, and isn’t afraid to mentor the next generation of CAD talent. If you love the puzzle of turning raw field data into something clients can build on, this role in Warren, NJ, is yours. What You’ll Do You’ll be the bridge between the field crew and the final map. That means you’ll prep survey data before the boots hit the ground, then analyze and convert that data after they’re back in the truck. You’ll own the mapping process from start to finish—plotting deeds and reference maps, running traverse adjustments, and producing ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, FEMA elevation certificates, and subdivision plans. You’ll also: • Calculate construction layouts and as-built surveys, and prepare grade sheets and Metes & Bounds descriptions. • Oversee and mentor CAD Drafters, reviewing their plans for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to company and client standards. • Work directly with Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers to keep projects on track and within budget. • Create mapping from field crew data collector files, field sketches, digital photos, and reference maps. What You Bring You’ve got at least 5 years of surveying experience under your belt, with deep expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Your math skills are sharp, and you have a proven record of producing clean, accurate plan presentations. You know field survey operations, engineering, and the construction industry inside out. You’re also: • Highly organized and a clear communicator. • Quick to learn new software and technologies. • Proficient in MS Word and Excel. • A self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team. • Able to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality. • Comfortable taking direction and applying it with confidence. The Work Environment This is a professional office role—mostly sedentary, with close visual work at a computer terminal. You’ll be preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and reading extensively. No heavy lifting or outdoor exposure here, but you should be ready for the mental focus that comes with deadline-driven projects. Compensation Competitive salary based on experience. Ready to map your next move? Apply now at KnowHireMatch.com.
